Left Overs

I thought I would post, firstly because I am waiting for my water to boil in the kitchen and have nothing else to do. Secondly because I am making a great dinner and thought I would share it with you.

It seems my best dinners come from nowhere, when there is nothing in the cupboards other than basics & leftovers. Tonight I found some left over butternut soup in the fridge and have turned it into a chicken curry. I just fried some onions with curry powder, added chicken, added the small amount of left over soup with a tad of water,a handful of currents and yum yum looking forward to eating it.

Better go now as I am getting in the habit of burning things.

(I forgot I chopped up one tomato as well and added after the chicken).

Spurs 2 Orlando Pirates 1

On Tuesday Night we braved the cold and headed back to Newlands Stadium to watch Mike's team. We took along one of our security guards, and I think he & Mike had a great time.

I am Alive

After 4 days in bed feeling awful I have more than semi recovered. It is amazing how much sleeping you do when you are sick.
It's so nice to be up and about and back to work. Tonight I am actually going to have dinner, although my stomach has shrunk to the size of a pea.
Mike has been looking after me, which has been great.
So the past week has been uneventful apart from the pharmacy man trying to poison me. (We asked him for the Neurofens that melt in the mouth and told him that I could not swallow tablets - he said he did not have these particular ones but a different brand, which we bought. When at home, they looked like capsules to swallow to me, but Mike said I must bite on it to see. After doing this it was the most disgusting chemical taste ever and burnt my mouth for a while - I do not think the pharmacy man listened to us!! since then I have stuck to my Disprin).
I hope nobody catches this bug it's horrible and pounces on you with no warning.

90 Minutes for Nelson Mandela

Mike is very excited - we have just bought tickets to see Africa versus The Rest of the World at football, it will include players of old with even a performance from Pele.
I have to say even I am quite excited to get wrapped up in my hat and scarf for my first time at a football match and my first Newlands Stadium visit.

2 Years On

2 years of marriage have gone by, and we thank everyone for their messages and cards.
Lets hope we are a lot luckily than my wedding rings.
Year 1 of marriage (well first month) - I lost the diamond from my wedding ring
Year 2 of marriage (last week) - My 2nd wedding ring (lucky I had one) has turned gold. (apparently this is normal as white gold is actually gold).

Love

Nic

Mikey - it looks like I need a new ring!!!

Christmas 2007

Perk - Bartrum Family Reunion.
I am now very excited, just spoke to Sandy and she is heading back to Cape Town in November and staying the whole of December (hopefully boyfriend in tow).
It is going to be a great Christmas in George - our first Christmas away from the family and we will be surrounded by family.

Weekend in brief

Friday: After a quick swim, we canceled out all the hard work with a pizza, and a couple of hours of 24 dvd.

Saturday: Woke up late (not an unusual occurrence this week for me), went to Orgins for the best coffee in Cape Town (Mike had upsolong dijon ??? tea).On to Muizenberg this is where the photos come in - Mike finally bought himself a surfboard, which now means we have a 1 bathroom apartment. As pouring hard with rain I sat in the car with my picnic and book. Back late afternoon and went on to the cinema to watch Oceans 13 (very good) and signed up to the cinema club with our health insurance so can now go to the cinema for R13.00. Watched some more 24 (I think we are getting addicted).

Sunday: Want to buy some herbs, went to Greenpoint market, but plant man not there. On way to garden centre road blocked so went to N1 city and bought a few things from Mr Price Home. Back home and watched grand prix, then went for a long walk along the sea front. Was an amazing night and I was able to wrap up warm in my scarf. Home again and watched a film "Happy Hour" then an episode of 24 (it's getting good!).

That's our weekend, and yours?

End of the rainbow

Forgot to post these the other day - there were a lot of Monkeys getting married this day. Unfortunately no pot of gold at either end.
