Mom and Dad are off to Goodwood this Thursday for the Goodwood revival. With only 2 weeks to prepare we hope everything goes well and you all have fun.
We wish we were able to make it, but we will be home in 2 weeks to look at all the pictures.

Weekend In McGregor

Sorry these are a little late, but since Sunday night I have been in bed with food poisoning (probably the worst night I have every had - mike's as well!!). All ok now just a little weak as nothing left in my body. Mike is making dinner now, so must go. Sorry photos will have to wait.

Mike & Nic Updates

We are off to McGregor on Friday evening to spend the weekend with the Roed family.
We made a deal with one of our customers in exchange for work, so we able to stay for free for 5 nights.
So looking forward to a lovely weekend in the winelands.I have attached a picture of the cottage and will be sure to post some of us all next week.

Last weekend Mike went back into the water to surf after a few weeks off. I sat and read my book on the beach.

Last night Shane & Charise came around for supper, this morning I realised that our wine glasses are deceptively large as we got through 2 bottles of wine by only having 2 glasses each.

This morning we put the hose in the pool to top it up. 1 hour later we had a call from the lady downstairs asking us whether our pool was overflowing - it was, we had forgotten about it. The lady in the process of moving house was not too happy that our pool was getting all her stuff wet.

Tonight I am sure we are going to have to watch the football, but with an eight a clock kick off it does not start to 9pm.

Nic

Nearly forgot, we found out Warren was coming back to SA for a few months, so he will also be around for our BIG Christmas.

Coffee Cravings

My nice coffee has all run out, I need to investigate to find some nice instant here in South Africa. But until then my very urgent coffee cravings have to be met by Fegos across the road (I do have the decaf version so not really an addiction). So just waiting for Mike to finish his work then we are going to brave the rain and wind and cross the road. I have worked out you get more coffee in your cup if you have take away, so that's what I shall do, and you do not have to pay a tip!, but during the day you miss out on the little biscuit! Mike and I have also started to watch the 3rd series of 24 which once again I am sure we will get addicted to.

Mike & Nics Weekend

Friday night we both could not face the washing up so we went out for fish & chips at the Ocean Basket over the road, which is now my best restaurant (it's cheap,the fish is amazing and you get nice mints, you used to get good bread but now it's just normal sliced bread). Saturday morning came and once again the washing up was left and we went out for breakfast. Tummies nice and full we lasted without lunch and Mike went out to a birthday steak dinner. I went around to Yolande's with dvds & chocolate, and Yolande had the champagne ready. We all had a fun evening. (Friends with Money - was a good movie, it has Jennifer Anniston in).

Today is nice and sunny, we have been for a drive around the city. We bought a couple of bedside tables for our room (at the moment they are very smelly with the paint & varnish, so if you can't reach us in the next day or two it's because we have been intoxicated). I have just come in from reading my book as my reading spot is now in the shade.

(I did do the washing up on Saturday, and tonight I will cook).

Still Here

As you can see I did not use my ticket home last night - I was tempted but I could not leave Mike for 5 weeks. We also have a trip away to McGregor in the winelands to look forward to at the end of the month. Mike & I went to see the new Harry Potter film instead, and now our next trip home is 13th Sep which I am excited about as will probably be my last trip home until August 2008 (Mike will head back in Jan 08 if needed whilst Mom & Dad are here with me).

I booked an apartment in Wilderness this week for the Christmas week for Mom & Dad and Mike & I, as I am sure Uncle Pete & Mim will overbooked. (Which reminds me they must all be moved and settled in Wilderness now). We will be arriving on Sunday 23rd and leaving Sunday 30th, so a nice week to relax and enjoy the Christmas Sun.

Tour de Kent

8th July
This year the Tour de France started from London on the 7th July and continued through Kent on the Sunday. The Beavers and parents group had stalls on the Kingsnorth Playing Field. There was a wonderful fair-like atmosphere which kept everyone entertained whilst they waited for the cyclists to come through the village.

Scout Centenary Concert (GIG for short) 7/7/7

Haven't posted for a month so need to go back to 7th July the day of our Scout concert.
After weeks of appalling weather, we had a gloriuously warm, sunny day. We had acts from light opera through rock, Simon & Garfunkel style duet, instrumentals, pop and an 8 strong 70's group.
GReatly enjoyed by everyone and we raised over £1600. People leaving asked if it was going to be an anual event! We might be able to cope with biennial - we'll see.

Why we Moved to Cape Town

In the middle of winter Cape Town still has amazing days. I started the day reading my book by the pool, then decided it was too much of a nice day to stay in, so I made a picnic and we took a drive to Glen Beach/Camps Bay.
